  • BOYS’ CAMP REPORT FOR 16-18TH APRIL 2010
    Date received : 2010-04-19
Yesterday we returned from a very blessed camp with twenty four boys. Their ages ranged from 11 years to 20years.We could feel the enthusiasm in the air. On arriving at Eagles Nest the boys just ran around in great freedom, excitement and great expectancy. Finally they arrived, this camp they were so looking forward to, worked so hard to raise funds for.
I knew that God was going to do something great this weekend!
The theme for the camp was on JOSHUA. Who was Joshua, what made him to be the great leader that he turned out to be and how they can become such a successful leader to their own people who are in bondage and lead them into the promised land of salvation. Five times they heard how they can become this great man God has in mind for them.
I have had the great honour and privilege to watch these boys grow in Christ. This week end I witnessed firsthand of them being led to a higher level with Christ. Many of them testified of surrendering their lives to Christ. They testified of now understanding the meaning of salvation. Many of them also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the first time with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. They had all kinds of questions and prayer requests. Many things bothered them. They could be counselled and directed in the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ. The testimony of many was that they are stronger now in the Lord Jesus Christ than they were when they came.
I saw great leadership qualities in many of these youth. They took the lead in cleaning and helping out in the kitchen. At least three of them indicated that they would like to become pastors.
I am confident that God is busy preparing great leaders in Shiloh. There may just be great Doctors, Teachers, Lawyers ,Pastors and the most Godliest Statesmen South Africa has ever had!

    Dear Friends
Greetings in the precious name of Jesus. We do trust that you and your family had a very blessed festive season. We wish you a very blessed and prosperous 2010. May you flourish in all you put your hands to. May you continue to be a builder and restorer of broken lives. As you do this, may your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing come quickly and your righteous will go before you and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

We have just returned from a very pleasant and refreshing holiday.  We feel very refreshed and ready for work. Had a real blessed time visiting families and friends.

We had our first youth meeting for the year.It went off with a real display of enthusiasm from the youth as well as the youth helpers. There were at least sixty five youth and ten helpers. How good and great is the Lord. I am very positive and am anxiously looking forward to what God is going to do in this year.

Here are some dates that you can pray about for this year.
    • Boy\'s Camp 30th April 2010
    • Youth Leadership training 6-8 August 2010
    • Girl\'s camp 24-26 September 2010
Please pray for these meetings and as you know that we will require money for camp fees and food for camps, stationary, and petrol, other expenses that may arise when having such events. May be the Lord lays it upon your hearts to pay for something, your generosity will be most welcome. Pray for us also that God will strengthen us to do all that He plans.

    God Bless you.

  • Girls Camp
    Date received : 2009-11-27
    27 Nov 2009

    Dear Friends,
I has been a very wonderful and blessed weekend with the Girls. It has been a real challenge as always. The enemy put up a real fight to stop us from taking the girls out.I realize that if there are subjects like :-
    1.The heart of worship
    2.Becoming friends with God
3.Living with a purpose, the enemy must put a stop. After all, these are teenage girls, ready for the enemy\'s market. They are at the most vulnerable age.At this age, most prostitutes are produced,or sexually active. It is a time when life\'s most important decisions are made.

The Lord really touched many of the girls. They testified to the fact that they learned what is true worship, how to make friends with God and living with a purpose.
For most of them, this may be the only outing they will ever have, and very especially
in a safe and protected atmosphere. More than the youth learning, I learned much more
than them. My joy was to see them enjoying themselves and being blessed. With all that I
may say, it will be best when you read their letters they have written.

I do know that their lives will never be the same. My deep desire, and longing is that the vicious cycle of wickedness, abuse, crime and poverty will be broken in the lives of our children. A changed child is a changed teenager, a changed teenager is a changed adult. Can you imagine a community full of adults that walk in the fear and reverence of Almighty God!!!!!!!. Pray for us that we will complete our assignment, that we will not fail God and our children. I am so overcome in my emotions when I see the children. I am working with children for almost thirty years, but my emotions for them has not changed.

    God bless

  • Boys camp @ Rotary Camp GlenCairan
    Date received : 2009-09-04
The camp was attended by 33 boys. Their ages ranged from ten years to nineteen years. There was a spirit of great expectancy amongst the youth. The theme of the camp was “Gideon, You Mighty Man, God is with you.”
For most of them it was their first time on a camp. They do not get too many opportunities to go out and experience nature and a chance to meet with the creator of Nature itself. When they jumped off the bakkies and Kombi, they simply ran around enjoying the fresh air, a sense of security, and acceptance, not forgetting the good food they were going to receive.
Every one of the Leaders did a great job teaching, counselling, and praying for the youth. On Saturday afternoon we showed them a film. I believe that this film was an eye opener and turning point for most of the boys. It was based on a boy whose father was murdered by one of his girl friends. He was born in prison and abandoned by his mother. Lived in a foster home, where he was sexually abused by the daughter and beaten by the mother. Almost every one of the boys identified with that. They were in weeping and repenting. God touched and changed lives. It is so sad to witness the devastating effect illegitimately has on children. The bitterness, rejection, unforgiveness, and not to mention the anger the children suffer. It is no wonder that we have a lot of angry and fighting children running around.
I believe that many lives were changed. Here is a letter expressing how the camp affected their lives.

    A letter from Luvo Mkila:
"My age is 15 years old.
Want to thank the Lord for touching me in this boys camp. I learned … bout the man called Gideon this man was sere not seave but this man Gideon meet the Angel he see that the Lord is the serc sever. The thing that touch me is that way I was no’t want to for give my father for what heve done to me, but now I forgive him."
