| Date received : 2010-02-02 | It is incredible to witness how the Lord literally lifted us out of the ashes of the Wallacedene fire and gave us a vision, which we believe is His will for these areas. When one looks at what has transpired in the developmental processes of the last term of 2009 one is once more overawed at the way the LORD works in and around us. On 1st October 2009 we were all shattered when a devastating fire destroyed the Day Care Centre, office, kitchen and Renold’s house. We were dumbfounded when 15 years work and approximately R220000 worth of equipment was totally demolished in 30 minutes. Yet in this whole process we experienced the Lord’s grace and protection. There was no loss of life and minimum damage caused to the adjoining house. Once again we stood before choices as to decisions which had to be made regarding the future of the Day Care Centre in Wallacedene. In despair we struggled on wearily until the LORD ,who keeps us in the palm of His hand, gave us a vision for a new Centre. We immediately began with repairs and within a week we had all the other projects up and running except the Day Care Centre. We are so grateful to report that since the fire many new initiatives have unfolded that have placed Shiloh on a new road. On 4th November 2009 we held an Open Day at the Klipheuwel School where the Shiloh Synergy was officially launched and the new vision presented which we believe we received from the Lord viz., to move into the marginalised areas and open schools, community centres and all our upliftement programmes there. Once again we were astounded at the incredibly positive reaction we received with 65 applications from churches, organisations, established Day Care Centres, businesses etc. to implement this tried and tested Klipheuwel model with them On 16th November 2009 the Klipheuwel School was awarded the Absa prize for the most inovative pre-school training centre in the Western Cape which has opened so many doors for us. Several parties have contacted us to apply for funding to commence building centres, like Klipheuwel, in the country and we had to jump to it to draw up comprehensive plans, costing estimates and business plans for these centres. Presently, applications for funding have already been submitted to build 15 of these centres of which the first one will be the new Wallacedene Day Care Centre. It is incredible to witness how the Lord literally lifted us out of the ashes of the Wallacedene fire and gave us a vision, which we believe is His will for these areas. |

| Date received : 2010-01-11 | The Soup kitchens is running again. Three Containers were bought and is on site in Wallacedene. Two of the Containers are rather large and is supplied with electricity. We furnished the Containers with some deepfreezes which were bought and some donated. Three fridges were donated and installed. We still cannot start the Créche again as we are in the slow process of rebuilding to what we lost. The Clothing project and the Computer Room is running without any delay as it did not get damaged in the fire of 1Oct09. The Manager Renold Abrahams and his family who lived on the premises and lost all their possessions, is currently living with his mother until they can afford to maybe purchase a home in Scottsdene. |
