In 1993 Pastor Nanda Govendor, operating in the Wallacedene settlement outside Cape Town, got together with Andre Beeton . They prayed together and then got all their Christian friends together from all different denominations of Churches and started a working committee .
The organization, born as the WALLACEDENE SOUP KITCHEN was a result of this committee in May 1995 and wished to express the love of Jesus Christ with every mug of soup to the children of Wallacedene and Bloekombos informal settlement area. The first donation of R185.00 towards our project was just about sufficient for the ingredients for the first day! Thus we continued trusting the Lord to provide one day at a time.
The Lord started to literally extend our borders. A Committee was formed as interest in the work grew and more people, across denominational borders, became active and started working with us. Thus the SHILOH CHRISTIAN UPLIFTMENT CENTRE was established and was registered by the Department of Welfare in 1997 as a non-profit organization.
Danie Heyns and a group of farmers and businessmen came together and Community In Action, a food processing arm was established, and in 2004 affiliated under the Shiloh Christian Upliftment Centre. Presently 63,000 meals per month are supplied to 65 soup kitchens and organizations who feeds the needy.
Schalk Burger got a vision from God to establish a Crèche and various Upliftment programs in Klipheuwel. The first Crèche was build in Klipheuwel in 2004 and the JUBILEE CURRICULUM which is based on the Genesis principles was born. Reaching children for God and introducing them to Biblical standards is at the heart of our vision. MASINCEDISANE KLIPHEUWEL affiliated under Shiloh Upliftment Centre in 2006.
Consequently, we amalgamated and the SHILOH SYNERGY, an umbrella structure, was formed and registered by the Department of Welfare as a article 21 non-profit organization. We are registered for tax deduction on donations – (South Africa only) and also BBBEE registered. Taking hands and working together we can make a difference.
We wish to extend an invitation to visit our projects as to firsthand see the excellence by which we operate, ensuring fruit on our labour…
